Take it out of the packaging, simply tie it at the thinner end according to a 3:1 or 4:1 system, and without cutting, it’s ready for immediate use! Thanks to the new design and adjusted tapered lengths, the thicker part of the rope will always fall to the mainblock when sailing in upwind. When rigged with a 3:1 ratio, it shifts back to the thinner section during a reach-downwind course. For a 4:1 setup, this happens a bit earlier, during a beam reach to broad reach. This mainsheet rope, developed for Optimist sailors, features a diameter that varies between 8 mm and 6 mm. The outer sheath is made of durable, wear-resistant PES. The tapering ensures the rope glides smoothly through the block. To reduce weight, the tapered rope consists of two sections with different diameters, but the rope core remains consistent throughout its length.Thanks to this technology, the section held in the hand can be thicker, with a cotton-like feel that is hand-friendly, while the thinner section can have a more abrasion-resistant sheath.
